PERSECUTION
Persecution
rose against the followers of
Jesus. Saul of Tarsus took an active part in condemning them. He heard
they
scattered to Damascus, so he received orders to go find them. However,
on the
road to Damascus, Saul was struck blind by a brilliant light. He heard
a voice
say, “Saul, why persecutes thou me?” Saul said, “Who art thou, Lord?”
“I am
Jesus whom thou persecutes.” This was the moment of his conversion.
